ICMS is seeking a Sr. Construction Project Manager for the execution of K-12 school bond projects in the San Antonio, TX region. The position is responsible for coordinating all technical and administrative activities between design professionals, contractors, school leadership and District staff in the construction of capital improvement bond projects. The ideal candidate manages all aspects of medium to large new construction and renovation projects from initiation through completion. Responsible for leading design professionals and contractors hired by the District to meet established standards (District, Texas Education Agency, and International Building Code) within project budgets and schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage construction on multiple capital improvement projects ranging in construction budget of $10M to $65M including scheduling, RFI’s, change orders, and reviewing/approving contractor shop drawings.
Consult with District and school administration, staff, teachers, and communities within area of responsibility to ensure that the coordination of activities is consistent with District and schools’ goals and objectives. Provides information regarding tasks, plans, schedules, strategies, and organization structures to stakeholders.
Assure conformity using advanced knowledge of design with program requirements, time schedules, budget limitations, construction codes, planning/zoning requirements and District standards and criteria. Prepare documentation of project timeline and costs; analyzes and interprets data.
Review and approve architect invoices and contractor progress payments.
Inspect work in progress and monitor workmanship per contractual requirements on a regular basis at job sites under minimal supervision.
Ensure compliance of construction plans, specifications, and contract conditions and adhere to regulations and school district requirements in the performance of project work.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Science or related field from an accredited college or university or 4 years equivalent experience.
• 8+ years progressive experience in building construction or building construction management or related field for capital projects (preferably k-12 school projects) to include: Experience with reviewing/approving contractor shop drawing submittals, Requests for Information, Change Orders, and other construction-related documents
• Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check.
