    Position Description - IT Project Manager

     

    Background:

    Our client operates multiple grocery retail stores across Florida and recently acquired several additional stores that will be integrated leveraging all-new technology solutions, implemented via a multi-year program. Tesoro Group is adding several roles to this multi-year program with consultants as well as consultants who may be interested in permanent positions with our client.


    Position Title: IT Project Manager

    Overview:

    We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead our business transformation projects within the grocery retail space. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT project management, particularly in implementing solutions within retail environments. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure the successful delivery of the project within scope, budget, and timeline.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Project Planning and Execution:
      • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, milestones, timelines, and resources allocation.
      • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of project goals and deliverables.
      • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful execution.
    2. Stakeholder Management:
      • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders at all levels.
      • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, including status reports, progress meetings, and presentations.
      • Address stakeholder concerns and escalate issues as needed to ensure project success.
    3. Vendor Management:
      • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to implement and integrate workforce management solutions.
      • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure compliance and quality of deliverables.
    4. Resource Management:
      • Allocate resources effectively to support project activities and deliverables.
      • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure availability of resources as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
    5. Quality Assurance and Testing:
      • Develop and execute test plans to validate the functionality and performance of workforce management solutions.
      • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and facilitate feedback collection and resolution of issues identified.
    6. Change Management:
      • Implement change management processes to minimize disruption and maximize user adoption of new workforce management systems.
      • Provide training and support to end-users to ensure a smooth transition to the new systems and processes.
    7. Budget and Cost Control:
    • Monitor project expenditures and track against budget allocations.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource utilization to maximize project ROI.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Proven experience (minimum three years) in IT project management, preferably in the retail industry.
    • Strong understanding of workforce management systems and processes within retail environments.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, etc.).
    • PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships.
