    About the Role:

    The Senior Property Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial health of a portfolio of properties. This position requires a strong understanding of property accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to analyze financial data and provide insightful reports. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the full accounting cycle for assigned properties, including rent collection, expense tracking, accounts payable, and general ledger maintenance.
    • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
    • Assist in the development and monitoring of property budgets, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
    • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and other financial analyses.
    • Manage property tax assessments and work with external consultants as needed.
    • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
    • Collaborate with property managers, asset managers, and other team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient operations.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting procedures.
    • Stay up-to-date on current accounting regulations and best practices.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in property accounting, preferably with multi-family properties.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP and property accounting principles.
    • Proficiency in property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

    $90,000-$95,000 per year
