  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Primary focus for this position is governing MasterBrand’s and Wood Crafters’ inbound international ocean and air transportation shipments to continuously provide high levels of per shipment visibility while mitigating the risks for late arrivals and controlling costs.

    Responsibilities:

    Responsible for working closely with internal teams and external providers to ensure consistent flow of information regarding inbound global supply, and timely cargo delivery, while maintaining and reporting critical elements to cross-functional teams (materials, sourcing, finance, supply chain) and logistics leadership.

    • Facilitating effective communication and being a liaison between internal and external stakeholders
    • Fostering and developing strong business relationships with ocean carriers and NVO community
    • Maintaining allocation file and executing routing guide with the booking agent
    • Working with cross functional teams to minimize operational freight movement disruptions
    • Taking an active role in creating and executing action plans for shipments that fall behind the schedule
    • Reporting notable changes to the transit time that can impact on-time delivery
    • Troubleshooting and eliminating data inconsistencies in PO management platform
    • Assisting internal departments and international suppliers with imports and occasional exports (quality samples)
    • Identifying alternative solutions to the existing network setup based on market developments
    • Overseeing hot cargo movements and expedites to ensure seamless delivery
    • Streamlining existing processes to reduce tactical activities in favor of strategic initiatives
    • Conducting cost-benefit analysis for selected inbound shipments/routes and identifying areas of opportunity
    • Gathering, compiling, and analyzing quotations from carriers for air and LCL shipments
    • Driving continuous total cost improvement initiatives to meet and exceed company objectives
    • Other duties, including ad-hoc optimization efforts as assigned
    • Limited travel might be required as needed
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Excellent computer skills in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Teams, MS Outlook)
      • exposure to Power BI or equivalent tools welcome
    • Exceptional verbal, written, communication and customer service skills
    • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a dynamic international trade environment
    • Practical knowledge of international shipping requirements, processes, and transportation terminology
    • Proven experience in thorough review and analyses of large data sets
    • B.S. degree in business, supply chain, geography or logistics preferred
    • 2-3 years of experience in transportation/ supply chain/ logistics field or equivalent service with MasterBrand
    • Freight forwarding experience and proficiency in Spanish language welcome
