    CSuite Financial Partners has been retained by our client, a Chicago, Illinois based publicly traded holding company, to place a Sr. Staff Accountant.

    The role is remote. The ideal candidate will reside in the greater Chicago area.

    The Sr. Staff Accountant reports directly to the Accounting Manager.

    The Sr. Staff Accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing journal entries and account reconciliations, assisting with the preparation of SEC filings and assisting with close processes. The Sr. Staff Accountant will also be assisting the Accounting Manager as needed and respond to information requests by management.

    To be successful as a Sr. Staff Accountant, he/she should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“US GAAP”). An outstanding Sr. Staff Accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Prepare monthly work papers and journal entries in order to deliver accurate/timely monthly financial statements and maintain detail support.
    • Complete account reconciliations, including researching and correcting reconciling items in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with internal and external audits.
    • Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and testing.
    • Ensuring compliance with US GAAP and assisting with the preparation of SEC filings.
    • Setup wire transfer and ACH banking transactions
    • Perform other accounting duties as required and assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
    • 3-5+ years of accounting experience.
    • Working knowledge of US GAAP.
    • Excellent oral and written communication, organization, analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and independently, in order to meet strict deadlines.
    • Ability to prioritize assignments and multi-task.
    • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office software programs, including Word and Excel.

    Compensation: $70,000-85,000 annually, plus bonus potential.
