    Your Career

    Palo Alto Networks' ADEM (Autonomous Digital Experience Management) group is seeking an accomplished Senior Staff Software Engineer with expertise in developing browser plugins. You will be part of a world-class engineering team working on innovative solutions in the ADEM domain, focusing on building robust, efficient, and scalable browser extensions for monitoring digital experiences. You will collaborate with a multi-functional team of engineers to design and develop software systems that address complex challenges in the ADEM space, ensuring seamless integration, performance, and security across diverse environments.

    Your Impact

    • Responsible for complete software development process including requirement analysis, design, development, deployment, and support
    • Collaborate with other cross functional teams in order to create tight integrations of product features and infrastructure
    • Write clean, testable, readable, scalable and maintainable code that scales and performs well for thousands of customers
    • Participate actively and be a factor to design and development discussions
    • Identify areas for improvement within the team and actively push for positive change through new initiatives or optimizations

    Your Experience

    • 5+ years of solid experience in programming, design, and development, with a focus on client-side software, particularly browser plugins and extensions
    • Extensive hands-on (expert level) programming skills in TypeScript, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS, with experience building and optimizing browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
    • Strong understanding of browser APIs, including WebExtensions, and familiarity with browser-specific capabilities and limitations
    • Proven expertise in developing cross-browser compatible solutions, ensuring consistent and reliable monitoring across different browsers and platforms
    • Experience in managing background scripts, content scripts, and data collection components within browser plugins
    • Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, WebSockets, and RESTful APIs for integrating browser plugins with backend monitoring systems
    • Familiarity with security best practices for browser extensions, including secure storage, permission management, and data protection, ensuring safe and compliant monitoring
    • Experience with testing frameworks for browser plugins, such as Selenium, Cypress, or Puppeteer, and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
    • Knowledge of packaging, signing, and distributing browser extensions through channels like Chrome Web Store, Mozilla Add-ons, Apple Safari Extensions, and Microsoft Edge Add-ons
    • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance standards related to monitoring and data collection
    • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and deployment processes specific to browser extensions
    • Exposure to performance monitoring and diagnostics for browser plugins, with a focus on optimizing data collection efficiency, resource consumption, and responsiveness
    • M.S./B.S. degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent military experience required

    Compensation Disclosure

    The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $126000 - $204500/YR.
