    Job Description

    Blueport is adding an Sr. Systems Administrator who will own the internal information technology function at Blueport. This role represents an opportunity to provide immediate impact for a candidate who can operationalize their knowledge of best practices in information technology at our rapidly growing company. This position must be able to work onsite Monday - Friday this is not a remote position.

    To succeed in the role, you must demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practices and evidence a professional track record of effective technical management, information analysis, and a thorough understanding of computer hardware and software systems. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, methodical self-starter who will bring to the role their knowledge and experience operationalizing information technology principles and best practices, their solid business instincts and judgment, and their excellent project management and communication skills.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    · Day to day operational maintenance of all internal IT infrastructure

    · Staying within the annual IT budget and ensuring cost-effectiveness.

    · Monitoring daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems.

    · Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.

    · Selecting and purchasing new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary.

    · Testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems so that they operate effectively.

    · Assuring all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.

    · Evaluating technology risks in order to develop a disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.

    · Manage new and existing vendor relationships and contracts.

    · Work with Information Security Team to ensure IT infrastructure is compliant with security policies.

    · Participate in the development and updating of IT policies and procedures.

    · Ensure IT infrastructure documentation is up to date and maintained.

    · Remaining up to date with advances in technology and industry best practices. Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

    Ability to facilitate management level conversations on balancing business opportunities against IT infrastructure constraints and risks.

    Ability to serve as an Information Technology expert across functional/technical areas.

    Process management capability, in particular the ability to drive automation where appropriate and implementation of/integration with technology tools.

    Strong customer focus and expertise in triaging a heavy workflow, setting and managing client expectations, and timely delivering results.

    Excellent communication and listening skills, both verbal and written, and strong presentation and written documentation skills.

    Data-driven, intellectually curious, and numerically inclined.

    Self-directed in managing own work and identifying the company’s needs.

    A good sense of humor, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and being passionate about information technology are a must.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited university in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.

    Professional certifications such as MCP, MCSE, Network+, Security+ strongly preferred.

    5+ years of experience being responsible for information technology infrastructure and leading technology initiatives in a SaaS software company required.

    5+ years of experience administrating a Microsoft O365 environment and applications.

    5+ years of experience administrating a clustered Microsoft Hyper-V environment.

    5+ years of systems administration experience of Windows operating systems, including managing Active Directory and Domain Controllers

    Experience as a network administrator with a deep knowledge of routing, firewalls, VPNs and security devices

    Experience supporting users, laptops and mobile devices who are remotely distributed.

    Experience with AWS EC2 and managing VPCs.

    Experience with Microsoft SQL Server

    Experience implementing and troubleshooting RADIUS

    Project management experience required.

    Experience evaluating, implementing, and administering cloud-based tools and processes for IT infrastructure security and operations required.

    Security technology acumen and experience required including firewall, IDS/IPS, cyber-attack tools and defenses, encryption, certificate authority, web filtering, identity and access management, MFA, etc.

    Deep understanding of cloud and SaaS software, and their implications with respect to information technology strategy.

    Track record of positive collaborative experiences and successful cross-functional projects.
