    Staff Accountant - Construction and Project Management

    About Us: D1 Sports Franchise, headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee, is a leading franchisor of class-based and one-on-one athletic performance training for scholastic and adult athletes across the United States. The Company has 115 locations open with more than 200 locations in development. D1 has trained over 100 NFL Draft picks, 3,000 collegiate athletes, and over 100,000 scholastic athletes.

    Position Overview: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations related to our construction and project management activities. This role includes maintaining the books for multiple entities, handling invoice issuance and collection, acting as an intermediary for franchisee and general contractor draws, and managing sales tax registration, preparation, and remittance across multiple states.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for two entities, ensuring all transactions are recorded timely and accurately.

    Invoice Management: Issue invoices for services provided, track payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely collection.

    Project Draws: Serve as an intermediary between franchisees and general contractors for the processing of construction draws, including the preparation and submission of SBA loan draws (if applicable).

    Sales Tax Compliance: Handle sales tax registration, preparation, and remittance in multiple states, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

    Reporting: Prepare financial reports related to construction and project management activities, providing insights to management for decision-making.

    Collaboration: Work closely with the project management team, accounting team, franchisees, and external parties to ensure smooth financial operations and communication.

    Process Improvement: Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably but not required, in the construction or project management sectors.

    Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and experience with Quickbooks or similar accounting software.

    Experience with sales tax compliance and multi-state tax reporting is a plus.

    Familiarity with SBA loan processes and AIA documentation is a plus.

    Excellent organizational and time management skills.

    Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

    Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

    Salary range: $55,000 – 65,000, depending on experience
