Description:
Cooper Tacia is a full-service general contracting, project management and development company. Cooper Tacia’s primary business is commercial construction. We are seeking a motivated Staff Accountant with 3–5 years of experience to record all financial transactions, including purchases, sale, receipts and payments. You will post information to accounting journals/software and reconcile accounts to ensure their accuracy. The primary responsibilities of the position will be:
Responsibilities:
· Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, and payment requisitions, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting best practices.
· Collaborate with tax accountants to ensure timely and accurate submission of tax-related documents, supporting compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
· Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
· Maintain a working knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations and liaise with tax professionals to address compliance requirements and reporting deadlines.
· Support the preparation and review of payroll data, ensuring alignment with tax withholding and reporting standards.
· Contribute to internal audits by organizing and providing necessary financial data and ensuring adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
· Identify opportunities to optimize the use of Acumatica for improved financial reporting and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
· 3–5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in a professional setting.
· Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required
· Familiarity with construction accounting practices preferred; knowledge of AIA accounting is highly desired.
· Experience with Acumatica accounting software is preferred.
· Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records with accuracy.
· High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial data.
· Self-starter with a proven ability to take initiative, adapt to new tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision.
