Job Description
The Staff Accountant provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts, and completes month end journal entries and account reconciliations during month-end close. Demonstration of strong analytical and technical skills, as well as ability to work effectively in a team environment, including interaction with senior management and collaboration with peers in a wide range of functional areas within the Company, are essential to success in this role.
► Key Areas of Responsibility
Complete assigned tasks as a regular part of the month end closing process in accordance with the month-end closing schedule.
Maintain reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries documenting business transactions related to each month-end close.
Record intercompany inventory transactions to the general ledger on an ongoing basis.
Participate in preparation of monthly financial packages, tax packages, year-end audit/annual report, and any additional reporting/analytical reviews requested by management.
Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures and internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes- Oxley Act 2002 Section 404.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree accounting is required
At least 1 year of experience in general ledger and financial statement reporting is preferred.
Must have mathematical skill consistent with obtaining a four-year accounting degree.
Must be detail oriented with strong analytical skills
This position requires daily use of an accounting software package for a medium size company. Previous experience with this type of software is preferred
Must be proficient MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and other employees
Ability to work in a collaborative and participative, team-oriented environment, working with clients (both internal and external), all employees, and others in a professional manner

Travel to remote Vestcom facilities is required as needed
