    About the Role:
    
    We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team at Parker & Townes, P.C. in Gardendale, AL. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a reputable accounting firm and contribute to our continued success.
    
    Responsibilities:
    
    Monthly bookkeeping and accounting for small business clients 
    
    Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data.
    
    Assist with tax preparation and filings for individuals, businesses, and non-profits 
    
    Process payroll, payroll taxes, and sales taxes 
    
    Effectively communicates with client to receive information necessary to complete the engagement.
    
     Stay current on accounting regulations and best practices 
    
    Requirements:
    
     Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 
    
    CPA or CPA candidate preferred
    
    2+ years of experience in accounting or finance
    
    Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) 
    
    Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    
     Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
