Position: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Location: San Francisco, CA
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000 - $90,000 per year
Our client is looking for a Staff Accountant who will be hands-on with daily accounting operations, support compliance initiatives, and assist in various financial reporting activities. Working closely with the Accounting Manager, you’ll play a key role in keeping financial data accurate and helping improve financial processes.
~ What You’ll Do as a Staff Accountant~
In this role, you’ll handle a range of accounting tasks to keep things running smoothly and accurately:
Payroll & Accounts Management: Manage payroll and oversee both payables and receivables to keep transactions on track.
Transaction Posting: Record financial transactions and categorize them in the ledger with precision.
Account Reconciliations: Regularly reconcile accounts and bank records to maintain accuracy and transparency.
Audit Prep: Gather and organize necessary documents to support audit readiness.
Monthly Bank Balances: Handle monthly bank settlements and ensure accurate reflection of cash flow.
Tax-Related Tasks: Assist with tax policy reviews, handle tax payments, and manage relevant documentation.
Financial Documentation: Keep financial records up-to-date and prepare necessary reports.
Client Support: Address any questions about financial data and assist clients with any concerns.
Collaborative Process Improvement: Work with the Accounting Manager to identify and implement process enhancements.
~ What You’ll Bring to the Staff Accountant Role ~
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
Experience: Previous hands-on experience in accounting, ideally in a smaller business setting or with an accounting firm.
Skills: Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting, plus experience with payroll, accounts payable, and receivable functions.
