    Genesis Partners is a leading executive search firm specializing in Finance & Accounting placements. We are proud to partner with a well-established CPA/Accounting firm in the San Fernando Valley to find a skilled and motivated Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team.

    About the Role:
    As a Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the financial affairs of the firm’s diverse client base. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of accounting functions, including financial reporting, tax preparation, and client advisory. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow their expertise within a collaborative and professional environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements for clients, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
    • Assist with the preparation and filing of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
    • Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
    • Perform general ledger maintenance and ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards.
    • Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
    • Collaborate with clients to address questions and provide financial insights.
    • Stay updated on accounting regulations and tax laws to ensure compliance and advise clients as needed.
    • Mentor junior team members (for Senior Accountant roles) and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification or progress toward certification preferred.
    • 1-3 years of relevant experience for Staff Accountant; 3-5 years for Senior Accountant.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP and tax principles.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ProSystem fx) and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused mindset.
