    Job Summary: Sun Holdings, one of the top franchise organizations in the U.S. and one of the largest minority-owned businesses in the DFW area, is seeking a Staff Accountant responsible for general accounting and financial processes. In this important role, you will be responsible for all daily accounting tasks, including preparing tax documents and updating expense files. This also includes financial transactions, posting in the general ledger, and carrying out relevant administrative duties (e.g. responding to clients via email and handling invoices). Ultimately, you will ensure the company’s finances run smoothly.

    Responsibilities:

    Ensure all bank recs are up to date per Bank Rec summary. Train team on best practices for bank reconciliations

    Ensure intercompany balance is accurate and reconciled paid each period

    Complete monthly audits to ensure sub-ledgers equal general ledger for accounts payable and fixed assets

    Be responsible for various corporate level entries, and timely and accurate production of financials for non-operating entities

    Complete audits for insurance programs and provide data for insurance programs

    Identify areas for process enhancement and standardization within the accounting department

    Streamline and automate accounting procedures, implement best practices, and ensure adherence to established internal controls

    Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process and handle other interactions with outside agencies, financial institutions, and external stakeholders

    Demonstrate proficiency in managing entries, adjustments, and financials for multiple entities

    Coordinate intercompany transactions and acquisitions, and ensure accurate consolidation of financial data

    Use Sage X3 for all accounting functions and work with complex Excel spreadsheets

    Identify process improvement opportunities and potential automation where necessary

    Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in accounting

    Proven experience as an active and hands-on accountant, preferably in a multi-unit or multi-entity environment

    Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, etc.

    Understanding of managing financials and general accounting for multiple entities, including intercompany transactions and consolidation

    Ability to assess, establish, and optimize accounting processes and internal controls

    Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights for decision-making

    Proactive problem-solving approach, ability to identify challenges and propose effective solutions

    Professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels

    Familiarity and/or use of one or more accounting ERP systems

    Keen eye for details and commitment to accuracy
