    The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing a range of accounting duties including the preparation of financial statements, management of accounts, and reconciliation of financial discrepancies. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Financial Record Keeping:

      • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journals and ledgers.
      • Record and categorize financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
    2. Account Reconciliation:

      • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
      • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
    3. Financial Reporting:

      • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
      • Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for financial statements.
    4. Budgeting and Forecasting:

      • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
      • Monitor budget performance and report variances.
    5. Accounts Payable and Receivable:

      • Process invoices and payments, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
      • Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and resolving customer inquiries.
    6. Compliance and Internal Controls:

      • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
      • Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures.
    7. Audit Support:

      • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
      • Implement recommendations from audit findings.
    8. Administrative Support:

      • Provide support in other accounting areas as needed.
      • Perform general administrative duties related to accounting functions.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • 1-3 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.  Will consider entry level.
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.
