    Specific Job Title: Staff Psychologist

    Reports to : Tara Rooney, Ph.D.

    Job Summary:

    Primary responsibilities will be assisting the administration in coordinating and overseeing bilingual (Spanish) service provision at the Center for Psychological Services. This position will involve providing and overseeing clinical services provided at the Center, providing backup emergency coverage (as needed/indicated), and supervising a doctoral fellow. This position is a full-time, grant-funded, 12-month position (with the possibility of renewal).

    Essential Functions:

    Specific duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

    • Provide mental health services in Spanish

    • Supervise graduate students and doctoral fellows providing mental health services to clients in Spanish

    • Offer back-up consultation on clinical issues if assigned supervisors are unavailable (or if supervisors need to consult with someone)

    • Present (and attend) Center-related trainings in cultural competency and engagement as needed

    • Expand the Center’s current outreach program to connect with Queens-based agencies and organizations to increase awareness of the Center’s multilingual mental health services

    • Assist the Center’s administration to collect and evaluate data to measure the impact of multilingual services at the Center for Psychological Services

    • Adhere to the ethical and legal standards of the field

    Competencies :

    • Fluency in Spanish and English

    • Experience in the delivery of evidence-based psychological services

    • Minimum one year experience in providing supervision of psychological services

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    • Ability to work collaboratively with professional staff, faculty, students, and fellow administrators

    • HIPAA trained

    Work Environment :

    This position operates in a professional office environment. This position requires standard office equipment such as computers, printers, etc., and equipment related to the training environment (i.e., a recording system).

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work :

    This is a full-time position with flexible hours, including evenings/Saturdays.

    Travel :

    Local travel for outreach efforts may be required.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Doctorate in Clinical or School Psychology

    • Licensure as Psychologist in New York State

    • Minimum one year experience in providing supervision of psychological services

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary for this position is $95,000.     QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • Must be organized and have experience or the ability to learn data entry on the computer
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Need an understanding of the Production Department
    • Fork Truck license (will have to be certified – if not currently) -Pass written test and demonstrate safe operation of a powered industrial vehicle.
    • The ability to read and understand both written and verbal information
    • Comply with the Tower Automotive values and policies
    • Use scale for weigh control purposes
    • Use hand held scanner
    • Be capable of working together as a team when needed
    • Other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager/Supervisor

     

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

     

    • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of sitting, climbing, lifting, stooping, bending , standing and handling of materials
    • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of the lift truck to exact positions.
    • The ability to see details at close range as well as see pedestrians at a distance.
    • Be flexible in work schedule due to production shipment requirements
