    Gym Manager

    Position Description: Gym Manager manages all aspects of the gym. He/she will ensure the gym is running as well as it possibly can, with a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of members, clients, and staff. The Gym Manager reports directly to the owner.

    The Gym Manager is responsible for everything that happens at the gym. This includes the proper training and supervision of all employees or staff members working at the gym, inventory control, statistics, and collection of delinquent accounts.

    He/she must make sure that all instructors are performing the duties required of them, including teaching safe, exciting and educational classes, providing outstanding customer service to all members. The Gym Manager also tracks member attendance and follows up with members who haven’t attended for a month or longer.

    The Gym Manager must also oversee the Membership Consultant role. Membership Consultants are responsible for creating marketing events and selling memberships to new and existing customers. The Gym Manager must meet weekly with all MC’s to establish memberships goals and review results. He/she must ensure MC’s provide accurate information to prospective members and that existing members are also taken care of. The Gym Manager can also enroll new members or existing members.

    The Gym Manager must possess good leadership ability and inspire his/her staff members to excel.

    The Gym Manager is directly responsible for the continued growth and profitability of the gym.

    Gym Manager Responsibilities include the following:

    Staff Management: • Keeping track of employee hours and bonuses to be submitted for payroll • Maintaining employee files, and keeping track of any personal changes, days off, vacations, problems, praises, etc. • Solving any staff conflicts • Coordinating and holding daily, weekly, and monthly staff meetings to set goals, and to go over any new procedures, and statistics • Individual performance goal settings, and reprimands if needed • Taking responsibility for any inadequacies from staff • Hiring and firing any necessary employees • Responsible for all staff to follow their job description • Cross train in all positions for easy replacements

    Marketing: • Community outreach, i.e. PTA, gym newsletters, fund raisers, Chamber of Commerce, social functions, joining business networking groups, etc. • Corporate contacts, i.e. setting up self defense seminars, CDT, Corporate days, Mass Intros, group presentations • Distribute invitations a daily into the community • Support / Help Program Director in setting sales appointments each week • Book, oversee, and track budgets and R.O.I. for all paid advertising (including, but not limited to, tv commercials, internet ads, sponsorships, etc.)

    • Post one time per day on all social media channels including Facebook and Instagram and weekly on our YouTube channel

    Other Manager of Operations Duties and Responsibilities: • Keep accurate statistics on all aspects of the gym • Keeping office costs down in order to increase profitability

    • Order and maintain inventory of office supplies and resale items in the pro shop

    • Open and close the gym daily ensuring sight and smell of all areas of the gym is pleasant, professional, and attractive (clean if necessary)

    Salary Range: $40,000 - $60,000 including bonuses

    Work Schedule: 40-50 hours per week depending on schedule

    Paid Time Off: 5 days after six months; 10 days after 12 months
