STEAM KIDZ LAB is looking for Summer Camp Lead Teachers and Assistants for STEM Science Summer camps being offered in various parts of Fairfax County. No previous experience is required! Training and our well-defined tried and tested curriculum is provided. Prepared camp boxes/supplies are provided. This is a great opportunity for college students or part-time job seekers. It is a great way to get some teaching experience under your belt. Responsibilities: • Show up ON TIME at designated location. We are responsible for the children. • Setup for Camp using the supplies provided • Teach the camp using the lesson plans and materials provided (Camps are setup as 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm with a supervised lunch) • Ensure the students leave with the designated pickup person. Qualifications: • Be over the age of 18 and a high school graduate. • Have a demonstrated ability to inspire, entertain and teach kids. • Be fun-loving, warm and high-energy, and have a sense of humor. • Be highly intelligent. • Have a passion for science and creative thinking. • Maintain a neat and clean appearance. • Speak clear English; second-language skills are a plus. • Have basic computer skills. • Be a team player. • Be physically able to perform classroom demonstrations and activities effectively and safely. • Be physically and psychologically able to maintain a safe, orderly environment with large groups of young children in a highly active setting. • Consent to and pass a criminal and health background check for working with children. • Be drug-free. Compensation: $10 - $16 hourly
