    Position Summary:

    Supports daily operations of all activities that relate to the reprocessing of reusable medical supplies and instrumentation including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes within all set professional standards and regulations.

    ****Job Responsibilities:

    • Assists with the operation of the sterile cores, guide instrument and scope processing and managing supplies
    • Coordinates and performs daily activities that support the surgical practice
    • Supervises Central Service technicians assigned to the sterile cores, processing and supplying areas
    • Maintains inventory and instrumentation
    • Supervises the cleaning and sterilization process according to established standards
    • Assists with the teaching, counseling and evaluating of staff
    • Assigns daily schedule and location for each employee.
    • Maintains required log keeping records.
    • As a CS/SPD Lead Technician, you will perform and serve as a resource for decontamination, inspection, assembly and sterilization of all surgical instrumentation.
    • Working with facilities leader, assures the adequate functioning, maintenance, and cleaning of all autoclaves and other sterilization/cleaning equipment.
    • Uses Standard Universal Precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment.
    • Serves as a resource to other members of the health care team.
    • Conducts routine quality assurance activities.

    • Completion of a Sterile Process Certification Program is required.
    • Three to five years’ experience as an Instrument Technician in multiple specialties or equivalent combination of education and experience.
