The Mortuary Science Faculty position is a full-time, 9-month faculty position in the Mortuary Science Department. ACC Faculty teach 15 credits each fall and spring semester. Faculty may have the option to teach courses during the summer semester for additional compensation. Courses may be taught using both traditional and non-traditional delivery methods, including online, hybrid, or accelerated. Courses may be offered during the day or evening, and/or on satellite campuses.
Faculty are expected to advise students, engage in student retention activities, assess student learning, select textbooks, evaluate curriculum, serve on College and Department committees, and attend meetings and functions. Additionally, the faculty member may be asked to assist the Program Chair as needed and perform related administrative duties for accreditation such as program assessment, evaluating curriculum, coordinating clinical practicums, providing clinical instructor orientation, course scheduling, serving on the program advisory committee, and maintaining and developing relationships with industry and healthcare providers.
The Mortuary Science Program at Arapahoe Community College is the only program in Colorado that is accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education. ACC offers an Associate of Applied Science in Mortuary Science with both in-person and online tracks to educate students in every phase of funeral service and prepare them for entry-level employment in the industry.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Current teachers applying to teach ACC campus-based, online, or concurrent enrollment CTE courses may include non-teaching occupational hours that are older than the 5-year requirement if they have the required degree (and license/certifications as listed) and a minimum of 3 years full-time teaching experience in the discipline/program or 6 years part-time teaching experience in the discipline/program.

ADVERTISED SALARY RANGE
The salary range for this position is $58,569 to $71,185, commensurate with education and experience. This salary is based on 166 contract days within an academic year (August - May). The projected start date for this position is January 1, 2022; salary will be prorated based on the number of contract days worked. This is a full-time, 9-month, FLSA exempt position.
