    Stoneleigh-Burnham School, an independent boarding and day school for girls in grades 7-12 in Greenfield, Massachusetts, seeks a part-time certified Athletic Trainer.

    Located in the Pioneer Valley, a short drive from the Five College Consortium (UMass Amherst, Smith, Mount Holyoke, Hampshire and Amherst College), Stoneleigh-Burnham is the only girls’ school in New England to offer the IB Diploma Programme and attracts students from the local area and around the world.     Stoneleigh-Burnham School seeks a certified Athletic Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports medicine and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of athletes. As a certified Athletic Trainer, you will work closely with coaches and athletes to prevent, diagnose, and treat injuries, as well as provide rehabilitation and support services.

    Responsibilities:

    Injury Prevention:

    • Design and implement injury prevention programs tailored to specific sports and individual athlete needs.

    • Conduct assessments to identify potential risk factors and develop strategies to mitigate them.

    • Educate athletes, coaches, and staff on proper techniques and practices to reduce the risk of injury.

    • Work with Athletic Director, Coaches and Medical Staff to implement ImPACT testing and concussion protocol

    Injury Evaluation and Treatment:

    • Provide immediate care for injuries sustained during training or competition.

    • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the severity and nature of injuries.

    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and medical guidelines.

    • Coordinate with team physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for athletes.

    Rehabilitation:

    • Oversee the rehabilitation process for injured athletes, including designing and implementing exercise programs, monitoring progress, and adjusting treatment as needed.

    • Provide hands-on support and guidance to athletes throughout the rehabilitation process, addressing any concerns or challenges they may face.

    • Collaborate with strength and conditioning coaches to facilitate a safe and effective return to play.

    Record Keeping and Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress for each athlete.

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and medical best practices in documentation and record keeping.

    Emergency Response:

    • Be prepared to respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies during practices, games, or other athletic events.

    • Implement emergency action plans and protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of athletes at all times.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field.

    • Current certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers.

    • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Athletic Trainer.

    • CPR/AED certification.

    • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

    • Experience working with athletes of all ages and skill levels is preferred.
