    Job Description

    Balsam Brands is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to manage our Balsam Hill Studio retail store at Whalers Village in Lahaina, HI. In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure our customers experience the magic of Balsam Hill in an inspired holiday setting.

    The Store Manager will be responsible for creating a positive work environment that ensures customer satisfaction, maximized productivity, and sales. From managing store associates to operations, inventory management, and long-term strategy development, the Store Manager will help oversee the daily operations of our Retail Store. This role is unique and will partner closely with the Balsam Hill corporate team to drive business in a new retail model, as we test and gather insights. We are especially excited about candidates who have previous retail management experience and a proven track record of retail success and creating customer-centric shopping experiences!

    What you’ll do:

    • Help execute and launch store opening in partnership with Balsam Hill Corporate Team
    • Facilitate pre-open activities such as deliveries and other on-island tasks as needed in collaboration with Idaho-based Project Managers
    • Oversee hiring, developing and inspiring a top-performing store team who drive the business and exceed customer expectations
    • Manage daily store operations and profitability by achieving sales and operating targets
    • Ownership over store inventory as well as offsite inventory storage
    • Lead replenishment of merchandise as well as ship from store routines
    • Recommend sales and marketing strategies to achieve goals
    • Closely partner with Balsam Hill corporate to help gather insights, test new ideas, and report selling data
    • Demonstrate exemplary customer service and selling skills
    • Ensure timely execution of short- and long-term retail strategy and action plans, including implementing merchandising plans and displaying promotional signage and materials
    • Represent the brand and understand the competition and retail landscape
    • Protect company assets and minimize loss by ensuring all store standards and operating procedures are met including workplace safety, risk management, merchandise management, and loss prevention

    What you bring to the table:

    • 5+ years of experience managing retail store operations with a proven retail sales record
    • Passion for exemplary service, extreme attention to detail, and enthusiasm for creating a joyful customer experience
    • Honest, enthusiastic, and hard-working, not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get the job done
    • Demonstrated excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
    • Entrepreneurial spirit with experience creating and driving retail strategies
    • Digitally savvy with a basic understanding of Microsoft Suite
    • Business acumen: can understand and quickly address needs of the business (e.g. budgets and sales forecasts, retail strategy and approaches)
    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to work onsite for every shift
    • May assemble and disassemble Christmas trees and other decorations
    • May lift and or move items up to forty pounds
    • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance (this job may require driving on company time)

    Notes: This is a full-time, in-person position. Candidates must live on-island in Maui.

    The base pay range for this position is: $72,000 to $87,000. Where an individual falls within that range will vary based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on candidate qualifications and experience, applicable skills, and other job-related factors. We benchmark our pay ranges against current external data sources and regularly review compensation for our team members.
