General Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, the stores clerk is responsible for ordering, receiving and dispensing food and food related supply items. Responsible for stocking, maintaining and rotating items in patient nourishment pantries. Maintain stores work area in compliance with HACCP regulations The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
Orders, receives and stores supplies in dry storage, coolers, freezers, kitchen, chemical storage and other areas according to prescribed procedures and FIFO methodology. Assists in monitoring temperatures of freezers and coolers. Checks invoices to ensure accuracy of deliveries and follows all HACCP guidelines for receiving and storage.
Conducts inventories to assess par levels and order adequate quantities of foods and supplies.
Maintains proper cleanliness and organization of storage areas including all walk-ins, dry storage and patient pantry refrigerators.
Monitors and stocks patient nourishment pantries, doctor lounges and other areas as assigned. Fills and delivers all hospital department stock requisitions and coordinates assembly and delivery of stock for offsite locations.
Reviews menu and ordering needs with Chef and other managers and places all orders, as needed, either by electronic ordering, phone calls, faxes, emails or other means.
Maintains a positive rapport with vendors and delivery personnel.
Assists other team members and asks for help, when needed. Assists managers, as appropriate, in performing tasks conducive to efficient and effective operations of the department.
Effectively communicates with co-workers for successful completion of duties. Checks out with manager before leaving for breaks and end of shift.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area
Requirements:
Formal Education:
High School Diploma or GED, required.
Work Experience:
1-year to <2 years
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
Clear and current State of Florida Drivers License
