REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports directly to the Plant Supervisor.
SHIFT:
This position is for the plant's first shift.
PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE:
Under direct supervision, manufactures and packages premixes adhering to standard operating procedures (SOP) and other regulatory requirements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ensure a safe working environment by having unsafe conditions corrected immediately. Has knowledge of and observe all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”) regulations.
- Maintain compliance in regulatory matters (OSHA, EPA, FDA, SF/SF) equipment standards, preventive maintenance programs and in-house SOP's to ensure outstanding levels of product quality and customer service.
- Report any required equipment maintenance to supervisor and/or maintenance team and assist in repair as requested.
- Formulate schedules with supervisor for routine building and grounds maintenance, preventative equipment maintenance, and ensures work is completed in a timely manner.
- Perform maintenance and repairs as directed.
- Operate safely and effectively, a fork lift, skid steer, and pay loader equipment in the movement of materials and charge mixing equipment.
- Operate batching, mixing, and liquid systems as required.
- Keep work areas clean and tidy.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”).
- Communicate raw material needs to supervisor, keeping ingredients at appropriate stock levels.
- Effectively and efficiently, collect and communicate customers' and sales staff's delivery expectations, to the proper individuals.
- Ensure that the assigned equipment is operating at full capacity.
- Perform other work related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Be able to succeed within and adhere to the culture of the Furst-McNess Company.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Education equivalent to high school diploma.
- Ability to ascend ladders and various heights using stairs, elevated walkways and/or elevators.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or stoop up to 70 lbs. of material on a regular or continuous basis.
- Ability to maneuver heavy loads (up to 2,600 lbs. pallets) with a pallet jack; safely operate all equipment along with being a certified forklift operator.
- Ability to perform cleaning operations while exposed to dusty environment, and ability to wear/use all appropriate protective equipment.
- Ability to learn and comply with GMP and regulatory requirements imposed on manufacturing facilities by the FDA, OSHA and EPA in regard to manufacturing products.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written, and is capable of utilizing these skills within all levels of the Company as well as externally.
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service to all customers, associates and management staff, showing a sense of urgency relative to solving problems, performing assigned tasks, employee concerns, etc.
- Ability to effectively organize work schedules and manage multiple assignments by utilizing time management skills to ensure day-to-day assignments and special projects are completed within guidelines agreed upon.
- Ability to work as an effective team member within the trucking/operations department and company, as a whole. Willingness to pitch in and do work that may not be a specific part of the job description for the overall good of the department and company.
