You’ll play a critical role in operationalizing enterprise thought leadership and advancing Wellmark’s position as a trusted leader in health care.

    What You’ll Do: As a trusted connector between our senior leadership team, cross-functional centers of excellence (COEs), and subject matter experts across the company, you will help guide and coordinate strategic initiatives that drive stakeholder alignment with Wellmark’s Making Health Care Better strategy. You’ll lead the structured prioritization, development, and execution of enterprise thought leadership efforts, shape and refine communication strategies aligned with business objectives, and track performance metrics that demonstrate progress and impact. By fostering strong relationships, bringing clarity to complex efforts, and ensuring consistency across enterprise messaging, you will directly contribute to advancing Wellmark’s influence and strategic outcomes.

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree or direct and applicable work experience.
    • 7+ years in insurance, financial services or similar complex corporate environment that includes business/organizational process consulting, in depth knowledge of products, benefits, services, etc., and strong understanding of business initiatives and interdependencies.
    • Strong ability to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously and mix long-term projects with the urgency of immediate demands.
    • Track record of success leading complex programs/projects through partnership with diverse teams, including senior leadership; ensures programs/projects meet quality, time, and stakeholder expectations while maintaining alignment with enterprise strategy.
    • Advanced process improvement skills. Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills, and the ability to develop creative solutions. Ability to understand and simplify large quantities of information into clear, succinct talking points.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Effectively communicates across varying levels of an organization, including to executive audiences, and facilitates meetings. Proven success in creating and/or collaborating on executive-level communication and presentations.
    • Ability to partner with workstream owners and key stakeholders to effectively summarize an integrated communications plan across stakeholders.
    • Effective consulting and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated success understanding the needs of others, asking meaningful questions, influencing decisions, developing solutions, and promoting collaboration.
    • Proactive self-starter with effective time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize projects, timelines, and competing priorities. Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to challenge the status quo while maintaining relationships. Quickly finds common ground and solves problems. Viewed as a collaborative, trustworthy business partner.

    • Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.

    Preferred:

    • Master’s degree.
    • Experience in health care/insurance.

    Additional Information

    a. Work collaboratively with Influence COE, SLT, division leaders, Corporate Communications and key stakeholders across the enterprise in developing a process for the identification, development, prioritization, and implementation of strategic COE initiatives and business point of view (POV) regarding COE priorities to achieve objectives.

    b. Responsible for ensuring cohesiveness of work product and communications across entire spectrum of audiences. Partner with COE identified team for integration with other company initiatives and change work, led by Product Teams.

    c. Lead, manage and execute priorities, including developing strategic plans, inclusive of internal and external audiences and stakeholders.

    d. Assist in the process of developing and refining key performance measures for each COE initiative, as well as establishing documentation and tracking progress of performance metrics throughout implementation and execution. Serve as active liaison alongside the Corporate Communications team to support Wellmark’s corporate strategy and align point of view on core initiatives with enterprise-wide communications.

    e. Collaborate and provide input into the development of quality communication materials.

    f. With an activation plan defined, engage respective Senior Leaders, key stakeholders, product team(s) and business units to initiate diffusion of thought leadership through existing corporate processes, business as usual (BAU) work, and execute prescribed tactics. Identify opportunities to continually improve and refine processes.

    g. Continuously develop and maintain long-term, collaborative relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders across the organization; consult with and facilitate discussion among officers and leaders across the enterprise to develop, problem solve, and review performance insights, identify dependencies, and provide regular progress updates on the corporate strategy.

    h. Provide input to determine the right timing, level and method of communicating. Collaborate with Organizational Change Management or change practitioners to support key stakeholders that are impacted by changes.

    i. Utilize project management and leadership skills to drive completion of work through cross-functional teams with multiple reporting and organizational structures.

    j. Other duties as assigned
