    POSITION SUMMARY

    Lead Bartenders are responsible for overseeing their team of Bartenders while also providing excellent Guest service, while preparing beverages for Guests and Cocktail Servers in a fast-paced work environment. This includes learning all food, cocktail, beer, and wine lists to better assist our Guests as needed. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, innovative, detail-oriented and personable.

    GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Assist Management with daily operations including inventory, ordering, cleanliness, scheduling, and guest service.

    Assist in training all new Team Members.

    Ensure that scheduling is correct and provide any additional input.

    Ensure all bars are properly cleaned and assign any additional duties.

    Be a key figure in communication between Team Members and Management for matters regarding standard procedures, Team Member enrichment, Team Member morale, and progression of service quality.

    Set up bars for operation in accordance with all checklists.

    Awareness of COGs and labor cost as it relates to profitability.

    Be an active point of contact for vendors, guests, social media team, and investors.

    Identify and assist in the procurement of new Team Members.

    Performs opening/running/closing side duties according to policy.

    Prepare cocktails for Cocktail Servers and Guests using standard recipes.

    Maintain company funds and equipment in an orderly manner.

    Interact with Guests in a manner which makes them feel comfortable and welcome.

    Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

    Monitor proper par levels of all supplies.

    Communicate any problems or situations detrimental to property to immediate management.

    Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank and is accountable for any and all overages and shortages.

    Responsible for the security and timely return of all assigned keys.

    Follow the sequence of service specific to the department.

    Observe and direct actions of Barbacks and Bartenders and to inspect and maintain areas of responsibility.

    Distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change.

    Thoroughly review and understand all relevant documentation pertaining to internal and external policies and codes

    Retrieve supplies and maintain a clean working area.

    WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able to:

    Withstand prolonged walking, standing, bending, pushing, climbing and kneeling.

    Work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to environmental factors such as excessive noise, seasonal heat and cold, hard to reach and unclean work areas, cigarette smoke, and hazardous materials and equipment.

    Use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to point-of-sales terminals, carts, dish machines, key systems and all bar equipment.

    Lift up to 50 pounds of ice, garbage or bar supplies; lift kegs weighing approximately 200 pounds (with another Team Members assistance), and moving carts weighing in excess of 400 pounds throughout shift (with another Team Members assistance).

    Effectively and efficiently move around bar area.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    Excellent Guest service skills and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.

    Professional appearance and demeanor.

    Must be over 21 years of age.

    Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.

    Excellent oral communication skills.

    Ability to work weekends, holidays and a variety of shifts.

    Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

    Must be able to obtain and upkeep any required work cards (Health/Sheriff’s/Alcohol Awareness Cards).

    Must have 3+ years experience (minimum) with cash handling.

    Must have 3+ years experience (minimum) in the hospitality industry.

    Knowledge of and ability to mix a wide variety of drinks. The skills and abilities necessary for effective performance within this position are typically acquired through five (5) years bartending or similar experience or through progressive promotion and training within Stray Pirate.

    REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

    In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

    Attend required training sessions and meetings..

    Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.

    Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to drink alcoholic beverages.

    Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.

    Consult Standard Operating Policy Manuals for guidance.

    Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
