Job Title: Street Maintenance Worker Department: Street Maintenance Department Location: City of Goodwater, Alabama Position Type: Hourly Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Job Summary: The City of Goodwater is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our Street Maintenance Department full-time. The Street Maintenance Worker will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and other public areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Perform routine maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems. Assist in the installation and repair of street signs and pavement markings. Remove debris, litter, and other obstructions from streets and public areas.

Operate and maintain various tools and equipment, including but not limited to, shovels, rakes, brooms, and power tools.

Conduct regular inspections of streets and public areas to identify and report any issues or hazards.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Previous experience in street maintenance or a related field is preferred but not required.

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
