    Job Description

    Position Type: Full Time

    COMPANY OVERVIEW

StreetCred PR is a new financial services public relations firm founded by a sixteen-year practitioner of financial PR, Jason Lahita.  The StreetCred approach to financial communications is simple – be an extension of your clients’ brands, and their team.  We view PR as a contact sport – you cannot control every outcome in public relations but there is without question a right and a wrong way to play the game.  We take on clients with strong, interesting offerings that value good service and are a pleasure to work with.  We work with who value both results and having a partner that truly cares about their success.

    THE JOB

StreetCred is looking for a highly experienced, confident, high-energy PR professional with a proven track record of working with financial services clients, and media outlets.  A strong set of media relationships, and the ability to forge new ones, is a must.  You must possess the ability to execute on “PR Fundamentals”, such as press release drafting, byline article editing, and generating media opportunities for clients by getting out onto the field and pitching journalists relevant, interesting story angles and go-to expert sources.

This is a start-up agency, but this is not our first rodeo. For the right individual, StreetCred can be a long-term home within which to make a meaningful impact on our clients’ business growth, while honing and expanding your already impressive PR capabilities. Guts, good judgment and a willingness to leave it all out on the field on behalf of clients every day are a must. Resume-builders, looking to check a box and jump to a “well-known agency”, would fare poorly and need not apply.  We’re not a stepping-stone, and our clients deserve focused effort and your full commitment.

We might be right for you if you…

    ·        possess strong PR skills that are under-utilized or under-appreciated in your current environment, yet would like an exciting change of pace where you are trusted to deliver as part of an elite unit, and will go out of your way not to let your clients or your team down

    ·        like to actually enjoy yourself while serving clients, and are fulfilled by the successes of others

    ·        like a flexible work schedule, that prioritizes client results and activity over punching a clock

We are definitely wrong for you if you…

    ·        are happier with predictability and a paint-by-numbers approach

    ·        want to go home and tell your friends and family that you work on “the [insert any universally well-known brand] account”

    ·        tend to wait around to be told what to do by clients before making things happen

IF ANYTHING ABOUT THIS JOB POST HAS CAUSED YOU TO QUESTION YOUR DESIRE TO APPLY FOR THIS JOB, THAT’S OK.  Its not for everyone.  At a company of our present size, your skillset will be on full display, every single day.  There is hard work to be done.  Clients have high expectations.  The only attitude and approach that works here, is a winning one.

If you find yourself thinking: “this might be the PR firm I was built for, because my current job is overloaded with pretentious, BS-prone suits and nauseating soul-crushing jargon coupled with thankless clients who seem to hate working with my agency”, cheers! We’ll look out for your resume.

You only live once.  OPPORTUNITIES TO GET IN ON THE GROUND FLOOR OF SOMETHING NEW ARE RARE.  Our founder once spent some time in the US Navy, whose motto is “HONOR. COURAGE. COMMITMENT.”  Do you possess these characteristics? Are you ready for a challenge, and to be a “plank-owner” of a newly commissioned, lean, mean, communications organization? Then what are you waiting for?

    Let’s go get it.
