    Vocational expert Stroud Vocational Expert Services, LLC - Nashville, TN Full-time, Part-time, Contract Job Summary Vocational Expert/Specialist Sub-contract opportunity: Expert in the highly specialized field of job placement of adult individuals with disabilities and other employment barriers within competitive work environments. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES The sub-contractor shall provide services as an expert witness in cases involve issues under the following titles of the Social Security Act, as amended: Title II, Disability and Title XVI, Supplemental Security Income. The individual must complete specialized training to render impartial opinions relevant to evidence at the hearing level of the Social Security disability claims process .Ã Areas of expertise should include current knowledge of: working conditions and physical demands of various occupations; transferability of skills; knowledge of the existence and numbers of jobs at all exertional levels in the national economy; and involvement in or knowledge of placing adult, handicapped workers into jobs. The sub-contractor shall review case files and/or electronic case files copied onto compact discs (CDs) and testify, either in person or by video or teleconference. The sub-contractor shall also review case files and provide a written response to vocational questions and interrogatories when required. Material for review will consist of vocationally relevant records and other material submitted. Testimony and/or written responses may include evaluation of the skill levels of a claimant prior occupations, the transferability of those skills to other occupations of lesser exertional levels based on regulations, and responses to various oral or written vocational questions, including whether or not a claimant with particular vocational factors and a given residual functional capacity is qualified to engage in one or more specific occupations and the incidence of jobs within any such occupations. Results of all written service requests shall be submitted on predetermined templates and/or in specific formats to assist the adjudicator making the determination. The case files submitted to the contractor for review may be in electronic format, paper format, or burned on to a compact diskette. Time is of the essence. Therefore, in cases not involving oral testimony, the contractor shall submit written responses and opinions to all written questions/interrogatories to the requestor within 5 business days after accepting the call order. The contractor may be required to prepare vocational evaluations or responses to vocational questions/interrogatories. A These services shall be provided at the sub-contractors facilities and submitted to SSA electronically, or by mail, fax or telephone, as specified by SSA. The sub-contractor must read and comply with the information contained in the Vocational Expert Handbook and comply with training provided by the contractor. In the event that information contained in the Handbook conflicts with the terms and conditions of this contract or any resulting agreement the terms and conditions in the contract or agreement will take precedence. Knowledge required: Up-to-date knowledge of, and current experience with, industrial and occupational trends and local labor market condition; current knowledge and use of a variety of vocational reference sources; professional knowledge of working conditions and physical demands of various occupations; transfer ability of skills; physical demands and skills required to perform occupations that exist throughout the United States. Required experience : Minimum two years job counseling and job placement of adult disabled workers challenged with multiple employment barriers; current and extensive experience obtained from being actively engaged as a principal, employee or private consultant in counseling and the actual job placement of adult handicapped people. Abilities required: The ability to effectively communicate accurately, quickly, and effectively, both in written and verbal form; the ability to be trained and develop the skills necessary to render impartial opinions relevant to evidence within an appellant court environment; to learn and apply specialized software skills relevant to the job responsibilities; and, ability to adapt to multiple working environments and to learn and apply specialized software skills. Skills required: Computer literate in Microsoft office 365 and internet proficient. Requirements: Applicants must be have ability to travel locally and/or have private and dedicated office space with a landline for teleconference work, broad band internet access, cell phone, and computer communications. Education required: Minimum Masters Degree in the field of Human Resource Development, Workforce Development, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, or similar field, with emphasis in vocational development and job placement. Preferred Masters Degree and/certifications. Must be able to complete federal background investigation process, sub-contractor suitability requirements, and specialized training program prior to beginning work.
