Responsibilities: • Design and analyze structures for residential and mixed-use developments, ensuring compliance with safety standards and engineering principles. • Review and prepare structural drawings, specifications, and calculations to meet local building codes and regulations. • Collaborate with architects, designers, project managers, and construction teams to deliver cost-effective and safe designs. • Conduct site visits and inspections during construction phases to ensure adherence to design specifications and structural safety. • Provide solutions for structural challenges and recommend necessary modifications or repairs. • Coordinate with permitting agencies to secure timely approval of designs. • Evaluate contractor submittals and shop drawings for structural systems and components. • Stay updated with the latest advancements in structural engineering, materials, and construction technologies. Qualifications: • The ideal candidate for the position should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. • A minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering, with a preference for experience in residential or mixed-use developments, is required. • It is essential to be a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) in Oregon, or have the ability to obtain licensure within six months. • Proficiency in structural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar tools is necessary. • A thorough understanding of local and national building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, and ACI standards, is a must. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are highly valued. • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams are essential for this role. • Previous experience in working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects, and meeting tight deadlines is required. Compensation: $40 - $50 hourly
