Established in 2013, DL Engineering Inc. provides structural engineering services to architects, general contractors, homeowners, and developers. We specialize in observations for structural integrity of residential homes and foundations, development of construction documentation for residential remodeling and repair, and new construction for buildings of all sizes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support clients by creating structural drawings and designs using AutoCAD LT for residential and commercial foundation plans, framing plans, sections, and details.
    • Analyzes specifications and performance requirements to ensure that designs meet specifications.
    • Determines the feasibility of designing new structures or modifying existing structures considering costs, available space, time limitations, and other technical and economic factors.
    • Provides technical information concerning erection techniques, materials, properties, and advantages and limitations that affect long-range engineering planning.
    • Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technological changes and developments in the industry
    • Use computer-assisted engineering software and equipment, including but not limited to AutoCad LT, Revit, Tekla Tedds, Forte, and BC Calc.
    • Observe existing projects and recommend repair and replacement of defective structural members or rebuilding of the entire structure.
    • Communicates complicated engineering design and philosophy to a varied audience of jr. engineers, homeowners, contractors, architects, and salespeople in written and verbal formats.

    Successful Candidates will have:

    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with emphasis on Structures
    • PE license, CO preferred
    • 4-10 years minimum experience within the civil or structural engineering field
    • In-depth knowledge of load paths in structures, timber, steel, concrete, and lateral design.
    • Must be familiar with International Residential Code (IRC) and International Building Code (IBC)
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD LT is required and familiarity with Tekla Tedds is preferred. Must be willing to learn Forte & BC Calc
    • Must be proficient and lead basic engineering and mathematical concepts and principles
    • Proven track record of drive to serve others, self-starter attitude, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
    • Outstanding problem-solving skills, with a team player attitude and willingness to collaborate with colleagues
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure prioritization of multiple projects
    • Ability to draft detailed reports, and business correspondence and clearly define scopes for business proposals
    • Ability to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions from groups of coworkers, clients, customers, and the general public
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team
