    Cronin Engineering and Inspection is looking for a skilled and motivated structural engineer to join our team. We are a small, fast-growing company with opportunities for advancement. We're looking for a structural engineer that's ambitious and wants to take on responsibility to grow an engineering firm together. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and ensuring the integrity and safety of various structures. The projects range from residential renovations to small commercial projects. The projects are typically on short timelines creating a fast-paced environment and requires moving quickly from project-to-project. The candidate will collaborate with diverse stakeholders from architects to general contractors and will be responsible for completing projects on time and with high quality. Candidates without extensive experience are still encouraged to apply if interested in the scope of the job and willing to learn and grow with our company.

    1. 60% of time will be spent on design work a. New residential designs b. Home renovation designs c. Commercial retrofit projects d. New, small, commercial projects e. Foundation repair projects
    2. 40% of time will be spent in the field a. Structural home inspections (contracted by the buyer or seller of a home) b. Foundation inspections c. New project evaluations d. Commercial inspections e. Forensic inspections

    Structural Engineer Role Responsibilities:

    1. Design and analyze structural systems for buildings and other infrastructure projects.

    2. Conduct structural calculations to ensure compliance with relevant codes and safety standards.

    3. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.

    4. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other project stakeholder to develop efficient and innovative solutions.

    5. Perform site visits and inspections to assess existing structures and provide recommendations for repairs and improvements

    6. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, best practices, and building codes to continuously improve engineering processes.

    7. Review structural calculations and drawings to ensure that project meets all required specifications.

    4. Produces high quality designs - the employee is able to cover all required project specifications.

    5. Ability to delegate - the employee is able to delegate work to others. The employee should be clear in their role to complete work and is able to delegate work to others as required to meet project deadlines.

    6. Works well in a team environment - is able to work well with other CEI employees as well as employees from other companies to create structural designs that satisfy all parties.

    Location:

    Located in the Denver metro area with work being completed in the office, remotely, and in the field. There will be 1-2 days per week of field inspections, as well as other in-person meetings to discuss project status as necessary.

    Structural Engineer Requirements:

    1. Bachelor's degree in engineering
    2. 1-4 years of relevant experience
    3. EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) certification
    4. Strong knowledge of relevant building codes and industry standards or willingness and interest to learn
    5. Vehicle that can be used for on site visits (mileage will be reimbursed)
    6. Experienced with: Microsoft Office, Google suite, Mathcad, Bluebeam, Autodesk products (Revit/Autocad)
