Community Outreach and Engagement
Collaborate with community organizations, schools and local businesses to establish partnerships that promote our school and expand our reach.
Identify and develop partnerships with community based organizations that could amplify or promote KIPP through their networks, events, and other communications
Actively participate in and represent KIPP Columbus at external events, such as fairs, open houses, and community events in order to engage with families, answer inquiries and disseminate information about our school’s programs and offerings.
Research and plan for opportunities to attend community events in order to promote our Student Enrollment Lottery to support application goals.
Identify and plan for opportunities to participate in events around the school community throughout the school year.
Support the organization and hosting of events that welcome community organizations and leaders to the school community
Internal Engagement
Student Recruitment Activities
Collaborate with Regional and School Ops leaders to prepare and implement outreach activities to recruit new families and students to KIPP, including flyering, canvassing and tabling in the school community
Hold 1:1 conversations with current and prospective families and students
Lead Management
Conduct independent outreach to families based on predetermined criteria.
Ensure consistent and predictable communication with families who have expressed interest in our school.
Guide prospective families through our enrollment process and platforms.
Qualifications
Experience:
Current, past, or future parent of a KIPP student preferred
Outreach and communication experience is preferred
Experience working as part of a team in a professional settin
Knowledge/skills required:

Welcoming to all communities
Available between 20-30 hours per week, including regular evenings and weekends
Strong communication skills. Spoken and written language skills other than English are welcome.
Knowledge of KIPP schools and mission preferred.
Familiarity with productivity tools (word-processing, spreadsheets, calendars) preferred
All Student Recruitment Ambassadors will be required to submit a background check to KIPP Columbus prior to the start of employment.
Additional Information
Classification
Temporary and flexible part-time hourly position; 10-15 hours per week; includes the possibility of some evening, weekend and/or holiday work.
Compensation
$15.00 per hour up to a maximum of 30 hours per week. The position is not eligible for benefits, holiday or break pay.
