Job Summary We are seeking a passionate, talented, and experienced Studio Director to lead our dynamic New York City studio. The Studio Director will work directly with leadership to manage the studio, oversee project teams, and ensure the delivery of innovative and high-quality landscape architecture projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all project teams, overseeing project managers, designers, and client relationships.
Collaborate with design leadership to ensure design and technical excellence.
Present to external client groups and chair client meetings.
Manage project budgets and ensure all contractual requirements are met.
Oversee project management processes, including QA/QC, peer reviews, and health reports.
Provide leadership in technical issue resolution and maintain up-to-date industry practices.
Coordinate with the financial team on budgets, invoices, and billing projections.
Ensure excellence in construction documentation, shop drawing reviews, and project administration.
Lead daily/weekly team meetings, including global staffing meetings and workload projections.
Mentor team members and foster a collaborative and healthy studio culture.
Participate in recruiting and conducting performance reviews.
Develop new business opportunities and maintain existing client relationships.
Represent the brand through speaking engagements and leadership within industry organizations.
Qualifications
Licensed Landscape Architect with a minimum of 20 years of professional experience.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and maintain high performance standards.
Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Strategic and independent thinker with experience in a fast-paced environment.
In-depth knowledge of landscape architecture, technical best practices, and project management.
Well-connected in the regional market with a global perspective.
Proficient in industry-standard software.
Openness to national and international travel.
