You’ll troubleshoot everything from shoddy air conditioning to vehicle electrical systems, conducting preventive maintenance and structural repairs along the way. Responsibilities: • Pursue continued education opportunities to grow technical skills • Provide preventive maintenance work like replacing brake pads, adjusting fluids, rotating tires, completing oil changes, and servicing the air conditioning • Ensure accurate record-keeping for vehicle repairs, maintenance, and service history • Collaborate with supervisors and fellow auto mechanics to diagnose and repair vehicles’ mechanical issues • Perform system inspections, test drives, and diagnostic tests to determine necessary repair work • Diagnose issues with semi-tractors using a computer and performing PM services and minor repairs to our mostly Detroit engine fleet • Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty or worn-out parts, such as brakes, transmissions, engines, and cooling systems • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve complex mechanical problems • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the truck fleet • Collaborate with other mechanics and team members to efficiently complete repair jobs • Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area • Stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in diesel truck maintenance Qualifications: • Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills are necessary • Experience and manual dexterity using hand tools and other equipment is needed • Valid driver’s license needed • High school diploma or GED equivalent required • An associate's degree from a vocational or technical school and/or ASE certification are a plus Compensation: $25 - $35 hourly
