Summer Camp Counselor: Sport Skills Coach

Do you love being active, working with children, and teaching through play? Join the team at Jump! Gymnastics as a Summer Camp Sport Skills Coach and help children ages 3–10 build confidence, coordination, and a love for movement through fun sports-based activities.
Camp runs from June 2 – August 15 with mandatory training beginning May 27. If you're energetic, upbeat, and passionate about getting kids moving, we’d love to meet you!
POSITION DETAILS
Hours: 8:20am – 1:55pm (Monday – Friday)
Job Type: Part-time or Full-time | Seasonal/Temporary (May 27 – August 15) Exact hours may vary slightly
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead engaging, age-appropriate sport skills activities in a small group setting
Teach campers teamwork, coordination, and movement fundamentals through fun games
Encourage confidence through positive reinforcement and creative play
Keep your station safe, clean, and exciting for all ages
DAILY SCHEDULE SNAPSHOT
8:20 AM – 8:35 AM: Coach arrival and prep
8:30 AM – 9:15 AM: Camper arrival & welcome circle
9:15 AM – 12:15 PM: Campers rotate between Gymnastics, Sports, and Arts & Crafts
12:15 PM – 12:45 PM: Lunch
12:45 PM – 2:00 PM: Zen time / movie
1:30 PM – 1:45 PM: Sport Skills Coach departure
Fridays: Stay until 4:00 PM for curriculum and decor prep (optional for Sport Skills staff but encouraged if full time)
REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years or older
Must be available May 27 – August 15 (training begins May 27, camp starts June 2)
Able to pass a comprehensive background check
Experience in sports, PE, camp counseling, coaching, or working with children preferred
Must enjoy being active and outdoors (some locations have outdoor areas)
A positive, dependable, and enthusiastic attitude is a must!
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to see and hear clearly 20 yards away.
Ability to provide sustained attention to students during class time in the gym.
Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, and climb onto a spotting block to assist athletes.
Ability to spot a gymnast, including the strength to lift and carry at minimum 50 pounds.
Ability to move equipment, including the strength to push or pull at minimum 50 pounds.
Must have the physical ability to respond quickly to emergencies, such as evacuating children or performing CPR/first aid if necessary.
