Brynmor Diplotots Summer Camp Counselor
Job Location: Washington, DC – Brynmor at Diplotots (on-site)
Reports to: Lead Camp Counselor
Salary range: $17.50 to $21.00 per hour based on education and experience
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday 7:00-4:00, 8:00-5:00, or 9:00 to 6:00
Ten weeks from 6/16/25 to 8/22/25

Under the leadership of the Summer Camp Lead Counselor, the Summer Camp Counselor is responsible for providing direct supervision of the camp attendees. The Counselor will implement all scheduled activities in a safe and fun environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily supervises all campers participating in scheduled camp events, ensures that all children are safe at all times.
- Build caring relationships with children and learn about their needs and goals.
- Communicate with families regarding camper’s progress and participation.
- Supervise camp field trips.
- Work with counselors to keep classroom clean and organized. At closing, reset classroom to be ready for next day’s activities.
- Communicate with the Lead Counselor each day to discuss progress, supplies, and plans for the week.
- Role model for Integrity and Honesty : Has the highest standards of integrity and honesty. Will be an ambassador for Brynmor and have a direct impact on Brynmor’s brand.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma, CDA, or equivalent.
- Preferred experience in working in a NAEYC Accredited early education program and/or significant experience working in early childhood education center or school age program.
- Experience teaching school age children.
- Familiarity with Brightwheel childcare management is welcomed.
- Fluency in multiple languages is welcomed.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, sit on floor, kneel, bend, and carry young children.
