Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Construction Superintendent with a proven track record in multifamily and commercial construction. The ideal candidate will manage daily operations on-site, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and up to the quality standards set by our company. Must have in-depth construction knowledge and best practices to meet with clients to walk properties and write a detailed scope of work. You will work with PM/Estimators to help facilitate bids and site walks.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Oversight:
Manage daily on-site operations, ensuring work progress is on schedule and within budget.
Supervise subcontractors, craftsmen, and laborers, ensuring they adhere to plans and specifications.
Oversee all field personnel, manage subcontractor relationships, and maintain a harmonious working environment.
Ensuring Materials are ordered and delivered on time.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that work quality meets or exceeds company standards and contractual requirements.
Conduct regular site inspections, ensuring that workmanship and materials comply with specifications.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure the job site adheres to company and OSHA safety standards.
Monitor construction for compliance with local codes and regulations.
Coordinate with local authorities, utilities, and inspectors.
Project Coordination:
Collaborate with project management to set project schedules and milestones.
Address any issues, delays, or changes in the project scope promptly.
Attend regular project meetings and provide status updates.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed daily logs of construction activities, including any deviations from original plans.
Review and approve subcontractor requests for payment.
Communicate regularly with the project manager regarding progress, issues, and solutions.
Team Leadership and Development:
Train and mentor construction personnel, fostering a positive team environment.
Manage personnel issues on-site, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years experience as a superintendent or similar role, with specific experience in multifamily and commercial construction.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, tools, materials, and best practices.
Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and blueprints.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
A valid driver’s license.
