We're currently seeking a highly motivated Junior Superintendent to join our team and help ensure the successful completion of our residential projects.
Position Overview
The Superintendent will work closely with our Lead Superintendent and project management team to oversee the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional eager to gain hands-on experience in managing custom home construction from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Assist in managing daily construction activities to ensure projects are progressing according to schedule and within budget.
- On-Site Supervision: Oversee subcontractors, trades, and suppliers to ensure quality work and adherence to safety standards.
- Quality Control: Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure it meets the company's quality standards and specifications.
- Scheduling & Logistics: Help maintain project timelines, scheduling trades and deliveries, and ensuring materials are on-site when needed.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve on-site challenges, such as material shortages, scheduling delays, or quality issues, with minimal disruption to the project flow.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure safety protocols are followed and that the job site complies with all local building codes and regulations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Help maintain accurate project records, including daily logs, schedules, budgets, and change orders.
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in residential construction, preferably with a custom home builder or in a related field.
- Education: A background in construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.
- Skills:
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
* Basic knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety regulations
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic construction management software. Experience with Procore, Buildertrend, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Certifications: OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour certification is preferred, but not required.
