Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Supervising Pharmacist to join our team! As a Pharmacist, you will be receiving incoming prescriptions, reviewing them for accuracy, and filling them with the correct medicine and dose. You will also be talking with customers to help them understand their medications and possible side effects, advising them on medication storage, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment. The ideal Pharmacist candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and is familiar with pharmaceutical best practices.
Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise the pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy
Ensure accurate dispensing of medications and adherence to proper procedures while overseeing compounding and labeling processes
Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care and medication therapy management
Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients
Conduct medication utilization reviews to identify opportunities for improvement
Monitor patient outcomes and make recommendations for therapy adjustments as needed
Participate in medical management activities, including formulary management and medication utilization reviews
Maintain aseptic technique in sterile compounding areas
Provide clinical support in acute care settings such as the emergency room (ER) and intensive care unit (ICU)
Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and patient service
Monitor medication inventory levels and order medications as needed
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree
Current state pharmacist license in good standing
Previous experience as a licensed pharmacist
Strong knowledge of pharmacology, physiology, and drug interactions
Leadership and management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals and patients
Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Knowledge of pharmaceutical compounding and medication therapy management
Proficiency in medication administration, including IV infusion and pain management
Hours; Monday to Friday Weekends as needed
License/Certification: Licensed Pharmacist (Required)
