Supervisor, Mechanical Assembly

In this role you will be responsible for the supervision and hand-on leadership in assembly of small sub-assemblies to complex mechanical systems involving many parts and components. Our ideal candidate will have at least three years of supervisory experience, a passion for precision, ability to prioritize and an eye for detail.
Immediate opening for a Supervisor, Mechanical Assembly in Pittsburgh, PA who possesses:
- Post-secondary degree, or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience
- Experience with process development planning including understanding of all relevant engineering requirements, developing manufacturing process flows, identifying tooling solutions, and estimating labor hours through all phases of the manufacturing process
- Experience with managing team of 40+ on large and complex assembly teams
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel to 10%-15% domestically; occasional international travel may be necessary
Key Responsibilities include:
- Supervise the assembly, installation and field service of electro-mechanical and hydraulic motion simulators including repairs and refurbishments, both domestically and internationally
- Assign projects to Assembly team members and monitor progress
- Train and mentor Assembly team members on processes and equipment
- Review and approve mechanical detail drawings, assembly drawings and BOM’s for manufacturability
- Redline drawings and BOM’s during assembly phase to document as-built conditions
- Review and approve Engineering Change Orders
- Review proposal designs/documentation and provide assembly labor estimates for systems, refurbishments, spares, repairs, and field service RFQ’s
- Provide Project Manager with schedule input (tasks, logic, labor hours and durations)
- Review project binders (including checklists, mechanical drawings/BOM’s, specifications, testing requirements, budget, schedule, etc.) prior to release to Assembly team
- Responsible for the overall schedule and project budget performance of the Assembly team
- Communicate with customers (internal and external) and suppliers to resolve assembly related issues
