Summary:
Our award-winning client is seeking an Supervisor to join their team! We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Supervisor to lead our Fiber Receiving and Operations teams, including Waste Water Treatment. In this critical role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure safety compliance, drive continuous improvement, and foster a high-performing team environment. Your experience in paper manufacturing, specifically fiber handling and wastewater treatment, will be essential to achieving operational excellence and exceeding customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and supervise a team of hourly employees, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
Foster a safe and productive work environment, emphasizing safety compliance and a culture of safety.
Develop and implement employee training programs.
Motivate and engage the team to achieve operational goals.
Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts effectively.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient and effective production processes.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement.
Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to address equipment issues and minimize downtime.
Wastewater Treatment:
Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and permits related to wastewater treatment.
Monitor water quality and take corrective action as needed.
Manage the procurement and handling of treatment chemicals.
Assist with regulatory agency inspections.
Safety & Compliance:
Conduct safety inspections and enforce safety policies.
Investigate and address safety incidents.
Promote a strong safety culture within the team.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
Analyze data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
Actively participate in continuous improvement projects.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Paper Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience in paper manufacturing.
3-10 years of supervisory experience in a paper manufacturing environment is essential.
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in paper fiber handling and/or wastewater treatment.
Strong understanding of water quality regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Strong safety and environmental awareness.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
