    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor-Receiving/Distribution.

    In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for supervising daily operations in the Receiving Mailroom and Central Distribution Departments for Materials Management. Must be aware of all situations that may need counseling. Trains employees on position functions and maintains detailed records for all employees. Prepares department functions weekly reports.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Delegation of Assignments Assures completion of daily weekly and monthly work cycles according to specified deadlines Schedules and assigns work according to instructions Reviews and audits work according to instructions Reviews and audits work for accuracy and completeness Delegates assignments to maintain an orderly flow of materials Completes staff schedule assuring adequate coverage
    * Performs other duties as assigned
    * Telephone/Inquiring Answers telephone and inquiries promptly and courteously Identifies the department when answering the phone Obtains information answers questions and resolves routinely moderate problems in accordance with departmental and/or Medical Center policies and procedures Utilizes the appropriate resource materials to ensure accuracy and a proper course of action Takes and directs calls with accurate to appropriate person based on content of inquiry
    * Inspects and reports all malfunctioning equipment to Supervisor Activates all environmental controls when needed Inspects and reports to the Supervisor any unsanitary conditions in Mailroom and Receiving area Surveillance of Area
    * Oversees hiring process at Woodhull to ensure timely and efficient recruitment and employment processing Consults with NYUs immigration staff to coordinate visa applicant needs Works with NYU HR staff to devise proactive management training programs to prevent and/or minimize grievances Works with NYU HR staff as necessary to analyze competitive wage information in order to substantiate union and non union position market adjustments Coordinates use of temporary agencies or recruiters for JOC approved positions
    * Records Keeping/Files Maintains proper documentation and files on a weekly basis of all activities Maintains files related to daily productivity Ensures that files are kept in an organized manner Prepares daily requisitions for stock replenishment from warehouse Compiles inventorial data and submits it to the Supervisor on a timely basis
    * Documents/Forms Completes the information correctly and neatly Initiates follow up with forms needed in order to expedite or track its progress through the processing system Secures accurate signatures and forwards documents/forms to the appropriate destination based on the pertinent Medical center procedure
    * Personnel Related Activities Makes recommendations and provides feedback for evaluations which is fair accurate and objective based on qualifications/performance Follows personnel and departmental guidelines when interviewing or evaluating personnel Ensures that the supervisor is kept aware of the performance of each employee on an on going basis Trains employees effectively in the procedures of the department and pertinent Medical Center policies Offers continuing guidance and assistance to employees on work activities procedures and performance related issues as appropriate Suggests work effort assignments of delivery persons
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience 0-2 years of relevant experience Excellent communications skills and computer skills necessary

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Five years of relevant experience with two years in supervisory capacity

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $98,218.33 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
