    Purchasing and Supply Room Clerk

    BRT Extrusions, located in Niles, OH, is looking for an experienced detail-oriented inventory/purchasing clerk for our supply room at BRT Aluminum extrusions. The Supply Room Clerk position is an hourly non-exempt position. The position is in our Plant/Facility in Niles, Ohio.

    The wage for his position is $16.75 to $17.00 an hour. This position will be dayshift hours in general, but an individual in this role may be asked to fill in for a night shift clerk.

    Essential duties/responsibilities of the Supply Room Clerk

    • Enter and keep current; parts and supply inventory requirements, purchases, into established purchasing system/tools.
    • Handle daily parts requests from other departments.
    • Ensure timeliness of delivery to departments.
    • Updated system information on parts in/out of stock as ordered.
    • Take inventory as needed per Supervisor request.
    • Review invoices for accuracy of price and quantity as compared to purchase orders and report any discrepancies to supervisor.
    • Retain documents in compliance with organization's record retention policy.
    • Conduct periodic review of inventory levels to ensure recordkeeping accuracy and sufficient supply levels as required.
    • Completes parts paperwork as needed.

    Required Experience for the Supply Room Clerk

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 1 to 3 years' experience in inventory system/work (clerk, assistant, coordinator etc)
    • Mechanical background preferred but computer experience required
    • Must be patient and detail oriented
    • Industrial Maintenance experience preferred
    • Computer usage is a must with experience using Microsoft products
    • Comply with Company policies including but not limited to all Safety policies
    • The scheduled may vary depending on the needs and positions open. May be a morning, afternoon or night shift
    • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing and to communicate with employees professionally and calmly
    • Must have and maintain good attendance

    Physical requirements for the Supply Room Clerk:

    This position requires the individual to work in a factory/manufacturing environment. The temperatures can fluctuate from hot to cold and the noise level is high. An individual in this role will be able to walk, bend, stoop, twist, turn, climb, and push/pull frequently. With proper safety equipment, an individual in this role may work above ground level (off the ground) occasionally – step stool or ladder. An individual in this role will need to be always aware of movement and/or noises around them. An individual in this role must move 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally. An individual in this role will remain stationary and move about the factory as needed per essential duties of the position. An individual in this role will be an effective communicator verbally and in writing, and this role requires individuals to read, follow and give written procedures to employees with or without reasonable accommodations.
