Location: Dallas, TX - 100% Onsite

    About Us

At Apkudo , we make sense of the chaos in the connected device world. From device testing and hardware reliability to automating supply chains and delivering deep analytics, we help companies work smarter, faster, and with a whole lot more clarity.
We're big on bold ideas, creative problem-solving, and surrounding ourselves with smart, curious people who aren't afraid to shake things up.

    The Role

We're on the hunt for a Support Engineer who's ready to dive in and make waves. You'll help us tackle real-world challenges, bring fresh ideas to the table, and be a key part of our growing team.

We are looking for a Support Engineer with experience in innovative robotics systems, resolving system-level issues, both hardware and software, to help a growing, dynamic company in the connected device tech area. To be successful in this role, a system support engineer must have strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills. They should be able to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is typically required, along with relevant experience.

    What You'll Do

✨ Maintain, troubleshoot, and update control systems, including hardware, software, and system-level robotics.
✨ Monitor systems using tools like Python and ladder logic; troubleshoot Linux system configs, device drivers, and HMI updates.
✨ Support both Windows and Linux servers; deploy/maintain infrastructure using Ansible, Dell OpenManage, and Git.
✨ Create and maintain technical documentation (design specs, user manuals, test reports, etc.).
✨ Provide end-user technical support, training, and clear system performance insights.
✨ Capture system logs, images, and reproduction steps for investigation and preventive action.
✨ Perform system maintenance, including planning and parts replacement.
✨ Apply configuration changes for new production introductions.
✨ Stay current with control system technology and perform hardware/software upgrades.
✨ Collaborate with vendors and customers to troubleshoot and build solutions.
✨ Work effectively with remote teams and communicate across technical levels.
✨ Must be flexible with shifts (Mon–Thu 4am–2:30pm or 3pm–1:30am; Fri–Sun 6am–6:30pm), including on-call support and rotating schedules.
✨ Respond quickly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operations.
✨ Willing to support multiple shifts and locations as needed.
    ✨ Additional duties as required.

Every day is different—and we think that's the best part. And yes, we actually have fun doing it.

    What We're Looking For

We're not into laundry lists of “must-haves.” But if you check off a few of these, let's talk:
✅ Proficient in reading ladder logic, programming/troubleshooting PLCs, and working with control devices (photoeyes, solenoids, sensors, safety switches, etc.).
✅ Skilled in troubleshooting mechanical/electrical systems, including belt shafts, drives, gear reducers, pneumatic circuits, and solenoid valves.
✅ Experience with sensors (Lidar, radar, camera, IMU, GPS, encoders), I/O, PLC, and solenoids.
✅ 3+ years in system server and network support, with Linux (Ubuntu, Debian) and Windows Server (2019+).
✅ Knowledgeable in Yaskawa GP7 robot systems programming and troubleshooting.
✅ Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
✅ Effective in onsite roles while collaborating with remote teams; adept at communicating with technical and non-technical users.
✅ Able to troubleshoot unclear issues using local and cloud-hosted tools.
✅ Works independently in fast-paced environments.
✅ Networking knowledge across multiple protocols and vendors (Meraki, Cisco, Unifi, Checkpoint).
✅ Familiar with AWS (CloudWatch), Dell servers, OpenManage, iDRAC, and white box systems.
✅ Experience with Ansible, Git, Prometheus, Grafana, Docker, KVM, QEMU, etc.
✅ Skilled in industrial HMI setup and server/OS troubleshooting.
✅ Experienced in customer-facing roles and vendor collaboration.
