Overview: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Supported Employment Manager to lead our efforts in assisting individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will oversee a team providing job placement, training, and ongoing support services to clients, ensuring they achieve long-term success in their employment.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Management: Oversee the implementation of supported employment services for individuals with disabilities or other employment barriers. Ensure that the program aligns with organizational goals and state/federal guidelines.
Client Assessments: Conduct client needs assessments, identify appropriate employment opportunities, and create tailored employment plans based on each individual’s skills, preferences, and goals.
Job Placement: Develop and maintain relationships with employers in New Jersey to create job placements for clients. Collaborate with employers to identify roles suited for individuals with unique needs or limitations.
Training and Support: Provide training to clients on job skills, workplace expectations, and independence in the workplace. Offer on-the-job coaching and ongoing support to ensure successful job retention.
Team Supervision: Lead a team of employment specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and ensuring that all services are provided effectively and with the utmost respect for client dignity.
Collaboration: Work with community partners, vocational rehabilitation services, and other support agencies to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client progress, outcomes, and program success. Prepare reports for management and funding agencies as required.
Compliance: Ensure that all activities comply with New Jersey state regulations, as well as federal and agency-specific requirements for supported employment programs.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Human Services, Rehabilitation, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred but not required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in supported employment services or a related field, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
Knowledge: Familiarity with New Jersey state regulations regarding supported employment and disability services. Knowledge of workplace accommodations, job coaching techniques, and disability employment law is highly preferred.
