    *SUMMARY: **

    The Machine Operator is responsible for loading castings into CNC machines to be turned to size. Make adjustments to offset sizing based on inspection equipment. Upon completion, an operator inspects the part to make sure that it matches specifications, removes sharp edges, and add part ID using metal stamper. Operators are responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment, and often operate multiple machines such as hydraulic presses and secondary milling machines.

    DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

    An employee in this designation must have developed basic math, written communication, and ability to speak and understand English. Employees in this classification will be assigned duties relative to their exercised abilities with increased levels of responsibility and complexity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

    Understanding and demonstrating the behavior that the safety of yourself and other coworkers is paramount and is the #1 priority.

    Inspect product to identify defects, and the need for adjustment, and to ensure compliance with customer tolerances.

    Understand drawings with the ability to determine the correct size and tolerance for product.

    Document all daily activity on labor tickets and production status cards

    Ensure fluids are refilled to proper levels ie; Coolant, Oils, etc. Perform required daily maintenance.

    Ensure tooling is in proper working order, Clamps, screws, shims, etc. and replace as needed.

    Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.

    Overtime may be required.

    Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    **Qualifications **

    • Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED minimum.
    • Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
    • Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to read dial gages as well as digital gaging,
    • Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    • Operate various tools, instruments and equipment used in the production of customer products such as air die grinders.
    • Analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
    • Understand and follow oral or written instructions.
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
    • Dexterity in hands and wrist are needed for loading castings into machines as well as using die grinders to remove sharp edges. Castings range from 12-35 lbs
