    Job Description

    WHAT'S THE JOB?

    As a Sustainability Manager – Janitorial Services, reporting to the District Manager, you will oversee the integration of sustainable and eco-friendly janitorial practices within an airport facility. This role requires expertise in green cleaning methods, waste reduction, compliance with environmental regulations, and operational efficiency. You will play a key role in ensuring janitorial services align with sustainability goals, airport regulations, and corporate environmental policies.

    Your Work Will Include:

    Environmental Strategy & Compliance:

    • Develop and implement sustainable cleaning programs aligned with airport and corporate environmental goals
    • Ensure compliance with environmental laws, green cleaning certifications (LEED, ISSA CIMS-Green Building), and waste management policies
    • Monitor and report on environmental impact metrics, such as energy consumption, water usage, and chemical waste

    Operational Excellence & Performance Management:

    • Collaborate with janitorial teams to integrate eco-friendly cleaning products and procedures
    • Implement best practices in waste reduction, recycling programs, and carbon footprint reduction
    • Conduct regular audits to assess the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives and identify areas for improvement
    • Oversee resource allocation to ensure efficient use of manpower, cleaning supplies, and sustainable technology

    Stakeholder & Client Relationship Management:

    • Foster strong relationships with airport authorities, vendors, and sustainability committees to align janitorial services with broader sustainability initiatives
    • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and external sustainability partners
    • Ensure sustainability initiatives meet airport regulations, corporate policies, and client expectations

    Leadership & Talent Development:

    • Train janitorial teams on sustainable cleaning techniques, proper waste segregation, and energy-efficient practices
    • Act as a sustainability advocate, educating employees and stakeholders on green cleaning and environmental responsibility
    • Develop succession plans and career growth opportunities within the sustainability framework

    Financial Oversight & Budgeting:

    • Manage sustainability-related costs, ensuring initiatives are cost-effective and budget targets are met
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings through sustainable procurement and operational efficiencies
    • Conduct financial analyses to optimize waste management and resource allocation strategies

    Health, Safety & Compliance:

    • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the janitorial workforce
    • Ensure adherence to OSHA, airport health & safety regulations, and corporate sustainability standards
    • Collaborate with safety teams to mitigate risks associated with chemical use and waste disposal
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in sustainability management within janitorial services, facility management, or airport operations
    • Experience implementing sustainability initiatives in high-traffic environments
    • Ability to analyze sustainability data, optimize operations, and ensure compliance with environmental laws
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach
