    Swagelok Northwest (US) is the Swagelok authorized sales and service center providing the highest quality products, services and fluid systems training for the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Technician to work in our Custom Solutions Team. As an Production Technician, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive improvements and innovation during the production process putting quality and safety above all else. The ideal candidate seeks after development and improvement opportunities while working with the team. Our Custom Solutions team is small, which means every voice is heard and can effect change.

    Schedule: Monday – Friday 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This position performs entry-level duties as assigned for processing of production orders, light assembly, fabrication, inspection, and general inventory management of Custom Solutions products. In addition, they will do some light warehouse duties.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Locate, Print, and Pick production orders to be built.
    • Interpret assembly instructions, drawings, and specifications.
    • Assemble fluid system components per standard work instructions.
    • Precisely measure dimensions to their specifications.
    • Inspect and package finished goods using the labeling machine.
    • Maintain inventory and show proficiency in Kanban methodology.
    • Operate power tools.
    • Safe use and care of equipment.
    • Conduct equipment maintenance.
    • Maintain a clean shared workspace.
    • Improving the Custom Solutions processes and workspace.
    • Inspect and check-in custom outsource products.
    • Inspect and check-in rental equipment and perform maintenance as needed.
    • Ensure adherence to equipment maintenance and calibration schedules and records.
    • Perform Kanban inventory system replenishment.
    • Perform equipment calibrations.
    • Within a reasonable period of time obtain and demonstrate proficiency in the following in-house certifications: PB Hose Building and Inspection, Fitting Reassembly, Tube Fitting Assembly and Inspection, Hydraulic Pre-swaging and Inspection, Threaded Fitting Assembly and Inspection, Pressure Gauge Industrial Liquid Filling and Inspection, Automatic PTFE Tape Application and Inspection, Automated Ball Valve Assembly, Tube Bending (Bench Top and Hand), VCR and VCO Face Seal End Connection Assembly, Coreflex Series Hose Assembly, Coreflex Thermoplastic Hose Assembly and Bubble Leak Testing.

    Education

    • High school education

    Experience

    • 1-2 years of hands-on mechanical experience
    • Experience with Swagelok products preferred
    • Fast-paced production environment
    • Applying lean and continuous improvement methodology

    Required Skills and Certifications

    • Mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to work independently and without close supervision
    • Use of gauges, calipers, and measuring devices
    • Basic understanding of fluid systems and products
    • Basic math skills
    • Packaging goods for shipment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • TIG Weld Operator Experience
    • Trade skills—job shop or high-volume production
    • Ability to interpret P & ID’s
