As a swim instructor, you’ll be in 90-degree water teaching swim lessons to children ages four months to 12 years old. Parents trust you to teach their children this life-saving skill with patience, energy, and enthusiasm.

Requirements:
Ability to work with children
Must be 15 years old
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Must pass background examinations (included with training)
Must be able to be in the water consistently for a minimum of a three-hour shift in a warm and humid environment
Duties:
Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
Evaluates student's progress, and complete required paperwork in a timely manner
Interacts professionally with parents/guardians after each swim lesson on the activities and development of students’ swim skills
Uses problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
Assists with setting up the pool before lessons and cleaning up after lessons including proper storage of all pool equipment and lane lines
Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours
Education/Experience:
No experience is necessary. This is a great first job and part-time job for teenagers in high school and/or college students.
Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider a plus!
Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certification will be required. For those not certified, Goldfish Swim School provides certification courses in our facility which all employees are required to complete within 3 months of employment.
Each Goldfish Swim School is an independently owned and operated franchise. The respective Franchisee is the employer at each Goldfish Swim School location. Each franchisee can set their own wages, benefit programs and terms and conditions of employment, which may vary at each Goldfish Swim School location.
